Greetings,

Hello, my name is Carol Cherich and live in Tennessee. As a single female, I never travelled with RS and explore a cruise to Central Europe for New Years 2021.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Carol Cherich

I have done 7 RS US based trips as a solo traveler.  Check out the General Discussion>Solo Travel for previous discussions.

I would not share full name, location, phone number or dates of travel on the forum.  Be as non-identifying as possible put still feel free to share.  If you do find someone you want to talk details with you can always send a friend request and take the discussion offline.

I like the On The Road trips with RS.  The schedules are fast paced and you can see a lot in a short amount of time.  My goal is National Parks.

On all my trips solo or partnered, male or female, did not seem to divide the group.  I find the RS travelers to be inclusive, interesting people with a love for education and adventure.  Sounds corny but true.

Do some research for any free time on your travels and have some ideas what you want to do.  Sometimes it's nice to get away from the group and return refreshed.  I agree with PamInIdaho that going early is a good idea.  Less stress, and a chance to do some of the beaten path experiences not already on your program.  I have even done some on the program that I know I want to spend more time at leisure.

Oh yes, this is a great point.  I usually like to spend more time in churches and museums that most tours allow, so I'll do research on my arrival city to see what looks interesting even if it's on the itinerary.  I usually never mind seeing something on my own and then again with a guide.

Ditto for time after a program.  In Europe I'll often spend time after the tour in either the ending location or will take the train to a larger city where I want to spend time.  Depends on how long you can be away from home.  At the time of year you are planning to travel it will be dark early but that would only impact outdoor venues.  Museums would be fine!
