We're booked for the Cooking in Tuscany tour March 20-April 7th and are wondering about the possibility of this trip being cancelled.  Does anyone have any information on that?

I am scheduled on a RS trip to Sicily March 22-April 6 and am very concerned due to the spread of the virus to the South including Sicily. The CDC has a level 2 warning about travel to all parts of Italy. I keep calling RS telling them of my concern and they were telling me there were no warnings from CDC. After I challenged them they got back to me by email acknowledging that. My concern is the letter above yours. Please call them often to ask for a cancellation. We are all above 55+ and more vulnerable to this!

Alert Level 2, Practice Enhanced Precautions
    Updated Coronavirus in Italy
    February 23, 2020
Italy is experiencing sustained community spread of respiratory illness (COVID-19) caused by the novel coronavirus. The virus can spread from person to person. Older adults and those with chronic medical conditions should consider postponing nonessential travel.

Have also contacted RS about the Level 2 alert in Italy. Waiting for their reply. Am wondering if they have cancelled tours in Level 1 areas.

We're supposed to leave on March 10 for a tour starting in Naples and are quite anxious. We'd love to reschedule but RS said no, unless they actually cancel the trip. Naples isn't one of the "dangerous" areas at this point, but what about in 2 weeks? or in 4 weeks (which is when we'd be coming home)?

We have an upcoming Italy trip, including Venice, so we have been very concerned, but information from RS has been limited. We read the recent (today?) RS post about Safety, where RS said there was "a small number of reported cases of COVID-19 in some communities in northern Italy" and that RS was continuing the Italy trips. We wondered what information RS was relying on, because as of today, February 28, Italy has reported over 650 coronavirus cases and 17 deaths. Now, the CDC has raised Italy to a Level 3 alert and said: the "CDC recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Italy. There is a widespread, ongoing outbreak of respiratory illness (COVID-19) caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that can be spread from person to person." What will RS do now?

LEVEL 3 CDC just now. Road Scholar needs to cancel ALL trips to Italy if they want us to continue traveling with their company. Let's see if they care more about their travelers or their bottom line. I will be the first to sing their praises it they choose their travelers!!!!
