Has anyone recentley returned, how did roads accomodate for return arrangements. Not getting clear info from staff. Loose $250.00 ,try to get later date transfer . Thoughts

I am not on your tour.  I did do a Road Scholar tour to France in October and one of my concerns was testing positive before return home.  I wore an N95 mask the whole time I was in France including on the Road Scholar tour.  We were to wear masks on the bus but many of my fellow Road Scholars did not wear them as instructed on the bus when the guide was not looking.  To me prevention was on me and I did what I could to make sure I remained safe and well.

I did do independent time before and after my RS tour so would have been on my own anyway on figuring out quarantine in France but it is on your own anyway there.  I made sure my credit cards were paid down in case I had to add 10+ nights on to the end of my trip.  TBH, I would not count on any insurance covering the whole cost of a quarantine if it comes to that.

No information about insurance coverage or how Road Scholar might handle them.  I will tell you that the Road Scholar office staff is a weak link and you will probably not get a satisfactory answer to your queries.  Your guide in Sicily will be well-informed and up to date on guidelines locally and will help you solve any crisis that should occur.

I'd go to the Trip Advisor forum for Sicily to see how they are handling quarantine.  I think Italy has specific facilities for quarantine but am not 100% sure. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g187768-i20-Italy.html

I'd also keep reading that forum to see if some of the regulations are dropping in Italy.  I am going to France, Belgium and Netherlands in April.  France has just dropped entry Covid Tests as has Belgium so things are changing rapidly for the better.  I wish the US would drop it's entry testing requirement.

In traveling last Fall (before Omicron) I felt much safer in France than where I live in North Idaho.

You'll have to decide for yourself if you want to take a chance. I have gone ahead and done my final payment for my tour to Belgium and Holland starting April 30 and feel comfortable with travel.  Others are not so comfortable. I do not use the AON insurance but I've never had to file a claim with any travel insurance company so it's probably as good as any other.

I hope you get to go to Sicily!  I'm sure it's beautiful in May with wildflowers!

    Hello!

We're thrilled you're joining this program to Sicily!

Since we resumed onsite programs in July, we've taken about 20,000 participants on 1,000 dates to 40 countries and nearly every state. We're confident we can keep participants safe and healthy.

This link is for our Well-being page: https://www.roadscholar.org/travelupdates/Wellbeing. The "Pre-Program Health Screening and Participant Agreement" section has information about this topic.

This link is for our Safety Protocols: https://www.roadscholar.org/practical-information/general-health-safety/safety-protocols/. The FAQ has good information about this topic too.

The enrollment includes the option to transfer programs/dates without a fee through end-of-day March 3rd, if you're not ready to travel yet. If you need to make an enrollment change, please call us at 877-426-8056.

    Warmly,
    Melissa W.
