I am arriving in Palermo a few days early to explore before joining the coastal walking holiday beginning on May 1.  Anyone have any recommendations of a good place to stay in Palermo with good access to major places to visit? And any highlights in Palermo I shouldn't miss, places to eat etc? I am traveling on my own. Thank you.

    Hello Barbara,

    We are going on the food and wine tour beginning May 12, and staying on for a few days to see Palermo on our own. We read about a place that looks interesting: apparently the Lampedusa palace (former home of the author of The Leopard) has been divided into rooms/apartments which can be rented.

    If you have any recommendations regarding Palermo, please let us know.
