Portugal

I have to say, the Portuguese are the friendliest people I've ever encountered. Full disclosure, I've only visited twice, both times

back in the mid-70's, so I know things change.  For example, when we visited the Algarve (southern coastal region), Albufeira was

nothing more the a fishing village.  Now, it's a "destination" on the Algarve.  But I'm sure the people are still friendly.  Now that I

live in Arizona, Portugal seems like the other end of the world ('cuz we used to live in Philly...just a short hop across the pond).

Still, I'm giving serious thought to returning, this time with RS.

Oh, one other thing. Many have had high-school Spanish, and since written Portuguese LOOKS so similar to Spanish,
you might be tempted to communicate using 'Spanish' pronunciation of Portuguese words. You will soon be disabused of
that notion. Portuguese pronunciation requires some serious study time.
