I've not done a Road Scholar trip to Scotland but I did a Rick Steves Best of Scotland June 6-15 2018. I did an extensive Trip Report on the Rick Steves forum. Here is a link and there is a section about the weather we experienced. I'd expect you to have the same weather for your time frame.

I'd want a waterPROOF (not water repellent) rain jacket with a hood. I'd take light gloves (glove liner weight). I'd add a puffy vest and if you are not cold tolerant, I'd bring a puffy jacket instead that you can layer under your rain jacket. Scotland is the only tour I've ever been on that I actually wished I had brought my rain pants. It was only one day (took the ferry out to Iona) but I do not think I've ever been wetter in spite of the rain jacket that is long enough it comes down over my behind, lol! I'd take waterproof shoes if you've got them, otherwise bring a 2nd pair so if one gets soaked it can dry overnight.
On that trip I had done 2 tours back to back so my packing list was in the first part of my Trip Report which was under the first tour. If you want the whole capsule wardrobe I took including outerwear, it's in this report.

Hello, since you're enrolled in this program you will receive a detailed information packet approximately 3 months before the program begins and a final information packet approximately 1 month before the program begins. Please refer to that for full details on what to pack.
Here are some tips for now:
Practical, casual, and comfortable are the main principles for packing. Dressing in layers is recommended. Bring wind/waterproof outer layers and remember wool, silk, and synthetic fibers retain heat better than cotton when wet. There is no dress code aboard the ship, practical informal clothing is the standard. Some people may prefer to dress up for dinners and special occasions but this is not compulsory!
Be prepared for a wide range of weather conditions. A pair of solid shoes is most appropriate for time aboard the ship, and hiking boots are recommended for field trips ashore. Mosquito repellent and a mosquito net for your face are strongly recommended.
We hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming adventure! Best, Rachel
