activity level

I am considering the trip "Walking in the Lake District and Scotland," but am having a hard time getting answers about the activity level.  It is described as "challenging," but the itinerary says there will be a choice of hikes of varied difficulty.  Does anyone have a sense of how strenuous the less strenuous hikes would be?

Thanks.

    Hello mla,

Thank you for reaching out and our apologies for the delay in responding to your inquiry here on the discussion boards. One of our team did respond to your inquiry via email on 11/5.

Please see the email copied below as well --

We can not anticipate the pace of the program, as it will be set by the group. The terrain will vary depending on the place visited. However, there may be a variety of walks offered each day, which will differ in content and length. On average we will walk 4-6 miles, some days may be less some a little more. The group leader on the program can help guide you in your choices.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

We hope you enjoy your upcoming adventure to England and that you are able to join us in Scotland too!

    Best,
    Rachel

I know you posted this a while back but just wanted to let you know that even the hikes designated as easy are pretty long (6-8 miles) and arduous. I haven't taken Walking Lake District but I did do HIking in England's National Parks. Hiking programs in UK are run by HF Holidays. The Brits are very serious walkers but if you're in decent shape and have good stamina, you should be able to keep up pretty well.
