Walking in the Lake District and Scotland

My wife and I just returned from this trip, our first with RS. We really enjoyed it ! Only one of the hikes we took (Coniston Old Man) could be considered strenuous. Abourt 1/2 the time we opted for the easier hikes, which were about 5 miles or less in length with not much gain in elevation. The hardest part on some of the hikes was occasionally climbing over stone walls separating farmers' fields. using stone stairs on both sides. The guides had excellent trail sense and were very helpful when it came to these crossings and for keeping everyone together. We had quite a bit of wet weather but still enjoyed the hikes and visiting the small towns in the Lake District and Scotland. Our group conisisted of 16 people, some of whom had been on numerous RS trips before.
