Do you prefer to book your program flights through Road Scholar or on your own?

I book with RS for International travel. I can let them deal with arranging flight that alone perfectly with their airport transfer I leave using my FF miles for domestic travel.

I recently booked international through RS. They found a price that was slightly less for the same class of travel I had looked into, on my own. They even made sure my Global Entry/Trusted Traveler data was entered correctly.

It is very easy to do it on your own. Global Entry - the airline website tells you where it needs to be entered. Easy - Do it on your own then you know what you are getting. RS does not let you know until just prior to departure. Who wants to stop 2-3 times

Not true per my experience buying 7 international flights from RS- RS books whatever flights I tell them to, confirms them immediately (even 6 months prior to departure) and is usually anywhere from $300 to $600 cheaper than I can get on my own using Delta or Expedia website. However, if RS ever was more expensive or couldn't give me the routing I wanted, I would, of course, book on my own. It's also nice that RS takes care of all the transfers when you book with them.

In the past, booking international flights through RS has been good, but for my upcoming program to New Zealand and Australia, their flights were $12,000 whereas I was able to book through Expedia for $6,000.

Interesting,
I want to go to NZ.
RS has Los Angeles to Auckland for over 1600 bucks
Expedia had it for circa 800 t 900
They replied about al, the extras
What extras for 1000 bucks
They are not talking business class
It seems like they want more dough than what is fair
That’s crazy
