Airlines are changing and canceling flights at an unprecedented rate for to multiple reasons.
Check your flights frequently. I have not received notice of all changes to my scheduled flights.
Double check night before and before leaving for airport as well.
Wait times on telephone can be upwards of 4 hours or use the call back feature.
Luckily my flights were Modified by Delta long before my trip, but I was able to get flights I needed from Delta on Twitter. Never had used Twitter before, but it definitely is a shortcut from using theā¦
Ugh...yes, this happened to me as well. Delta completely cancelled my return flight from Paris in October and just had left it hanging - no return option at all. I spent about 1.5 hours on hold to get it worked out but I understand some have had to wait longer than that!
Also check your seat assignments as even if the routing doesn't change, the type of aircraft might change and thus the seats are reconfigured and boom so is your seat assignment.
I'm checking my flights every Sunday AM as Delta does it's schedule changes on Saturdays. Not sure about other airlines but I definitely recommend a weekly check. I used to not check weekly until about a month out but now....yep, weekly.
It's also a mystery to me as to why I can get multiple marketing emails from Delta and never get notified of flight changes even if I sign up individually for each flight segment.
Thanks for the reminder!
