Hiking/walking sticks

For longer walks I use telescoping Norwegian walking (or hiking, or trekking) sticks. AARP notice says they have to be in checked luggage. I planned to take mine closed and in their carrying bag in my carry on.

Does anyone have experience with these--carry on vs. checked luggage?

  • I’m not sure of the brand to which you are referring, but I have a pair of walking sticks that I carry due to arthritis in both knees, mostly for navigating steps without handrails. I have taken them to Cuba and Northern Europe (several flights between the Scandinavian countries) in carry on with no issues.

Thanks. Mine are FitLife brand and collapse to a short length.
