Can't join Trip Discussion from Upcoming Programs page

There is a link on bottom left "Trip Discussion".  It brings me to a login page.  I log on and then I get the following error message:

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    I'm not sure what you're checking but accessing my date specific discussion still isn't working for me. I'm getting the same message. I cleared my cache (even though I don't know if that has anything to do with it). This is how I'm trying to access the Discussion Board for my upcoming trip. Please tell me if I should do something different. 1) After logging into My Account, I scrolled down to Trip Discussion on the left side. 2) Click on Trip Discussion. That's when I get the following message -

    Not seeing your discussion board? We’re sorry, but it may be under construction or unavailable.
    If you just enrolled in your program, check back in 48 hours to access the discussion board. If you still don’t see a discussion board by then, please email us at or call us toll free at (877) 426-8056, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET.
    Please note that we are only offering discussion boards for programs that began March 20th, 2017 and after.

    Road Scholar, this function IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. Too many people are complaining about this same issue. It's become very frustrating.

    I found that when I emailed, provided them with the name, program # and date of the program in which I'm registered, along with my order number (found on my Upcoming Trips page), and asked them to give me access to the Trip Discussion for that program, I had access within a couple of days.

    I realize we should not need to take that step, but, at least for me, it worked.
  • Does RS EVER plan on fixing the Chat boards so participants can exchnge info with each other on upcoming trips etc? Looking at these posts dating back to 2017 it certainly doesn't look like it! Tye old chat system RS had was MUCH MORE USER FRIENDLY - This is pretty much USELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • My wife and I will be doing two trips starting in April. I found the discussion page to be program specific. I kept looking and no discussion. I started the discussion on each program and now I have had discussion on the France program however no response from the London program.

    RS previous web version had An EXCELLENT Chat function -- why don't you try to restore that rather than screw around trying to patch this JUNK! - I've seen many complaints about the Chat function by RS Members - IT"S TIME TO ACTUALLY FIX IT!!!!!
  • My husband can get into the discussion board for our program by jumping through the hoops they told him on the phone. (Sign in, go to community, type in program number, leaving off the letters, etc.) Using the same hoops, I can’t get in. Of course neither of us can get in via our program page. Amazingly, I can access it immediately by clicking a link in an e-mail that came when someone responded to me. I don’t even have to log in. Really poor programming. It’s been months and this issue hasn’t been addressed. Ridiculous.

    I called RS about this situation and they acknowledged that they were having problems. I keep getting notifications for discussions I didn't join. I told them it was better to take down the forum altogether rather than keep frustrating us.

    I see that most of these messages were posted in August 2017. it is now May 2018, and my problems are EXACTLY the same!! Does RS ever read our pleas for help, or does an automatic reply just post, without any human involvement?
    It seems that the biggest downfall of an otherwise excellent organization is their website! There is plenty of website expertise available--go get some, RS!!!!
