We are buying additional insurance seperately. If you go to insuremytrip.com, you can compare several policies that have what you want and their prices. We found the additional RS insurance to be expensive.

I'm thinking of just using the travel cancellation reimbursement offered by my credit card company. Has anyone else used this benefit?

Read the fine print. RS uses AON insurance who only covers up to $200 for clothing and personal items on delayed baggage. Airlines have much higher limit and cover all reasonable expenses (I’m submitting a claim on American Airlines so will find out). Also check Credit card, homeowners policy and price other insurers.

I bought AON Affinity thru RS. For fully documented medical reasons I had to cancel. My personal experience is that this company is not responsive and super slow in settling claims. You get automated responses to messages sent and no information. I’ve been waiting over three weeks. Very disappointed so far.

I hope you get it done soon. I sent in a claim to AON this week after cancelling my trip due to husband,s health crisis. I will keep after them. After reading comments i will likely use another insurance agency if i trsvel with road scholar again. Good luck!

I filed a claim with Aon insurance for a trip we could not attend because both my husband and I had Covid testing positive on June 1 and June 2 2022 despite being vaccinated and double boosted. Aon accepted my claim and more than 90 days later I am still waiting for a refund. I have no confidence at all in Aon or Road Scholar and I am sorry I signed up and paid for this trip.
