Cuba and Money
Just looking for a suggestion.....Going to Cuba in January (15 days) and wondering what is a good amount of currency to bring with us ? We will take Canadian currency instead of US. Will probably buy a bottle of rum of a few souvenirs to bring home.

Hello, currently, only CASH is widely accepted in Cuba. You must bring with you to Cuba ALL of the money that you plan to spend in cash. You will not be able to use credit or debit cards. Bring newer bills that are in good condition. Bring a variety of denominations so that you can change money throughout the program as needed. The amount of cash you will need depends on your personal spending habits. We recommend bringing at least $500 per person, per week, unless you plan to purchase art. Consider bringing additional cash to cover unexpected medical emergencies. We hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming adventure! Best, Rachel
