    The Gullah culture! It spans from NC to GA and is prominent throughout the sea islands of S.C. Coastal Carolina University studies this extensively and would perhaps form a good partnership with road scholar. Coastal explores the roots of this culture even to africa, and has professors who hail from the African roots of Gullah. I have learned that Michelle Obama 's grandparents were Gullah people from the sea islands of South Carolina.
