You advertise Road Scholars age adventurously and I'm sure their brains do but not all of their bodies age as well. I went on 3 of your trips and planned on taking many more but then developed back trouble so can't stand for more than a few minutes without a walker. Your "easy" trips sound pathetically boring and I think there has to be someway more "adventurous" trips could be altered for slightly physically challenged retirees like me. I have plenty of money and time and interest and am searching for a travel company who has the business savvy to go after this huge market that gets bigger every year.

An orthopedist once suggested to try double walking sticks as I have 2 artificial knees. Walking is okay for me, but sometimes the guides walk faster than my knees can go. I never tried the walking sticks as there did not seem to be any practical way to carry my purse. Maybe a river cruise might suit you better, and the ships dock right in town or very close.

This is an idea worth pursuing, RS. There are many out there to whom walking is possible, but difficult. Others are
even less mobile and need mechanical aids (crutches, walking sticks, wheelchairs) and I'm sure they want to travel
as eagerly as the rest of us. They have the money and the motivation, but not much in the way of opportunity.

I am in the same physical 'boat' as you and would like more choices. There are other senior tour companies that accommodate those who cannot do all the high powered physical activity.

I walk more slowly than most, and have to decide if the "neighborhood walking tour" is something I can do without holding up the group, or if it has treacherous curbs or uneven surfaces. I've found that there usually are others in a RS group who have similar concerns, and we figure out what to do. Trip leaders are helpful, too, often giving the group walk or ride options. I read the trip descriptions carefully and identify activities that I might need to skip or modify. If there are a lot of these, I know the trip isn't for me. RS is more attuned to mobility needs than other companies that I've found and I've been pleased with my travel. The On Your Feet and Keep the Pace levels are my limit.

Hey cgbobo, if you can do "on your feet" and "keep the pace" programs, my guess is you could probably handle nearly
ANY program RS offers, maybe excluding the few strenuous and somewhat athletic programs.

I totally agree. There are almost no trips abroad that are easy.

The problem is the host do not seem to know the level of the program. Every host that I encounter has a different definition of the activity level. The actual definitions are too vauge

Wih that was true! No, not all KTP are the same. Some get that designation due to altitude, getting off/on buses, hikes that are optional that I know I won't do. It's those damn uneven surfaces that thwart me!

Get a cross body purse. I just started using one and both hands are free. I have been known to set my purse down and forget it, lol. Problem solved. you can get just about any size you need. I hope that helps.
