We created this discussion forum just for that purpose, and we’d love to hear from you. We’ll read every suggestion posted here, though we’ll only contact you if we need more information.

This is an idea worth pursuing, RS. There are many out there to whom walking is possible, but difficult. Others are
even less mobile and need mechanical aids (crutches, walking sticks, wheelchairs) and I'm sure they want to travel
as eagerly as the rest of us. They have the money and the motivation, but not much in the way of opportunity.

I'd like to suggest an Osa peninsula tour. Perhaps one of your birding tours includes the Osa, but I would like to see a tour
that focuses on the osa, one of CR's last truly wild places. (Def: truly wild place = the jaguars see you, you don't see the jaguars....unless you're really lucky). I know there are jungle lodges with guides in Osa. I would be very interested in such a
    trip.

Ooops, forgot to mention Osa peninsula is in south-western Costa Rica.

I am in the same physical 'boat' as you and would like more choices. There are other senior tour companies that accommodate those who cannot do all the high powered physical activity.

I walk more slowly than most, and have to decide if the "neighborhood walking tour" is something I can do without holding up the group, or if it has treacherous curbs or uneven surfaces. I've found that there usually are others in a RS group who have similar concerns, and we figure out what to do. Trip leaders are helpful, too, often giving the group walk or ride options. I read the trip descriptions carefully and identify activities that I might need to skip or modify. If there are a lot of these, I know the trip isn't for me. RS is more attuned to mobility needs than other companies that I've found and I've been pleased with my travel. The On Your Feet and Keep the Pace levels are my limit.

Hey cgbobo, if you can do "on your feet" and "keep the pace" programs, my guess is you could probably handle nearly
ANY program RS offers, maybe excluding the few strenuous and somewhat athletic programs.

I totally agree. There are almost no trips abroad that are easy.

The problem is the host do not seem to know the level of the program. Every host that I encounter has a different definition of the activity level. The actual definitions are too vauge

Flight enthusiasts might enjoy The Aviation Heritage National Park combined with Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, the home of the Wright Brothers. There are many Wright sites preserved, including their flying field, bicycle workshop, factory, and the aircraft that they considered their first practical flying machine. The Aviation Park also honors the Wright Brothers' friend and high school classmate, poet Paul Laurence Dunbar. The visit could be timed to include the Dayton Air Show. www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/ www.nps.gov/.../index.htm

Wih that was true! No, not all KTP are the same. Some get that designation due to altitude, getting off/on buses, hikes that are optional that I know I won't do. It's those damn uneven surfaces that thwart me!

How about a Route 66 tour of the Arizona portion? Arizona has really gone on a tear promoting their Rte.66
towns and sights. It could start in Winslow AZ at La Posada Inn, a former Harvey House stop for Santa Fe RR's
Chief passenger train. Williams AZ , Oatman AZ (old west) , Kingman AZ plus many Rte.66 memorabilia shops
along the way. Just a thought.

I don't think there is a program that includes the new African American history museum in DC. That would be great.

I'd be interested in that trip too. It could even be linked with the Holocaust museum. Two interesting museums and
    D.C. too....can't go wrong.

Not a new program suggestion but rather a new approach to existing program scheduling. Try aligning more programs by date that would blend well. Trips where the ending location for Trip A is the starting location for Trip B. I have tried to plan this and most of trips are off by 3-5 days. Would allow merger of two trips for the price of one airfare. Seems like it would increase program attendance. At one time RS indicated pre/post program extensions were available and have not seen that in years. The online date search is useless. It would be great if the search returned a table of back to back programs and not have to hunt thru multiple programs descriptions and dates to see if you can find anything.
